POSITION SUMMARY
The Purchasing Manager supports Secur-Serv’s customers and employees through the strategic procurement of equipment, tools, parts components and supplies along with other duties.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review requisitions
- Confers with vendors to obtain product information such as price, availability and delivery.
- Obtains highest quality merchandise at the lowest possible purchase cost.
- Facilitates Secur-Serv meeting SLAs with customers
- Evaluates prospective vendors against current suppliers to ensure that Secur-Serv is cost effective.
- Determine method of procurement such as direct purchase, bid or RFQ.
- Prepares purchase orders or bid requests and resolves cost discrepancies.
- Discusses defective or unacceptable goods or services with employees, vendors, and others to determine source of trouble and take corrective action.
- Track shipments and deal with FedEx/UPS if there are issues.
- Run Stock Reports and distribute applicable reports to other managers and purchasers.
- Research printers, computers, scanners, parts and manual availability.
- Quote availability and cost for printers, computers, scanners, and parts upon request.
REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelor’s degree from a four-year college or university; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Knowledge of Microsoft Outlook and Teams
- Ability to interact with technicians, vendors, customers and all levels of management in addition to other employees
- Excellent keyboarding skills
- Excellent negotiation skills
- Ability to foster a team environment with other Purchasers
- Excellent organization and planning skills
- Proficiency in managing multiple tasks and prioritizing workload
- Ability to work both independently and within a team to accomplish objectives in a timely manner
- Proven ability to effectively communicate with all employee levels
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
- Purchasing experience
- 10-key entry
- General knowledge of Excel
- NetSuite experience
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
- Sit Frequently at a desk
- Frequent fine hand and finger movements (keyboard, writing, mouse movement)
- Continual close visual acuity for reading
- Hearing and Speaking for communication within and outside of company.
- May be required to lift/push/pull up to 10 pounds for set up/movement of office equipment,
