POSITION SUMMARY
The Network Engineer II  designs, implements, maintains, and supports our growing network infrastructure. This position is part of the systems engineering team that is responsible for designing and developing scalable, maintainable, highly available network architectures in a tier III data center that meet business objectives and SLAs.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Delivers individual tasks on time and leads the delivery of tasks for natural or cross-functional workgroup
  • Contributes to or leads completion of initiatives and achieves deliverables meeting quality standards and deadlines
  • Creates System Design Documents
  • Estimates system level and enterprise solution project details
  • Designs, develops and implements complex business rules
  • Acts as an internal consultant in switching, routing, security policy (firewall) and load balancing issues and projects
  • Provides a client focus on security and network segmentation along with multiple unique compliance requirements
  • Fulfills end-user requests
  • Provides on call support as required
  • Routinely operates under deadlines and may be subject to extreme workloads
  • Periodically provides guidance to and assists in training less experienced individuals
  • Works with guidance or minimal guidance 
     

REQUIREMENTS
  • Minimum 5 years of proven hands-on network engineering experience
  • Strong knowledge in multiple infrastructure and internetworking methodologies
  • Technically proficient in switching, routing, security policy (firewall) and load balancing technologies
  • Deep understanding of networking protocols (e.g., IPSEC, HSRP, BGP, OSPF, 802.11, QoS)
  • Solid understanding of the OSI or TCP/IP model
  • Hands-on experience with monitoring, network diagnostic and network analytics tools
  • Proficiency with the following devices (ability to design, implement, and support):
    • Fortigate Firewalls
    • Sonicwall Firewalls
    • Meraki Firewalls
    • Sophos Firewalls
    • Aruba/HP switches
    • Cisco switches
    • Meraki switches
    • Forti switches
    • Sonic Point APs
    • Merakis APs
    • Aruba APs
    • Unify APs
  • Excellent business acumen
  • Able to communicate and collaborate effectively with co-workers and clients
     
PREFERRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE
  • Security Sensitive Position
  • Experience with critical facilities (electrical, HVAC, physical security)
  • Experience within DevOps and Systems Engineering teams, knowledge in Storage/SAN, Compute, and .NET Web Application management
     
PHYSICAL/MENTAL REQUIREMENTS
  • Sit Frequently at a desk
  • Frequent fine hand and finger movements (keyboard, writing, mouse movement)
  • Continual close visual acuity for reading
  • Hear and speak to communicate effectively within and outside of company
  • May be required to lift/push/pull up to 10 pounds for set up/movement of office equipment,
